DJIBOUTI, 20 NOVEMBER 2012. The 39th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) adopted the resolution which was drafted and submitted by the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF).
The resolution welcomed progress with regard to the establishment of the Islamic Countries Young Entrepreneurs Network (ICYEN) initiated by ICYF and aimed at developing of youth entrepreneurship in the OIC Member States and growth in youth employment.
In the same resolution, ICYF is recognised as the OIC partner in youth related issues in OIC-AoC Cooperation. Thus Member States and OIC institutions are called upon to support ICYF as the representative of the OIC youth in Global Youth Movement for the Alliance of Civilization (GYMAoC) and coordinate their relevant actions vis-à-vis UN AoC youth programs with relevant position of ICYF including its position for advancing interest of Muslim youth at the forthcoming AoC Vienna Forum.
The resolution also welcomed launching of new global award by ICYF for young Muslims from across the world titled “10 Young Muslims who can change the World” anticipated to be annual global award to celebrate the success of 10 exceptional young Muslims and the contribution they make to improve the world and calls upon the OIC Member States and institutions to cooperate with ICYF to this end.
