OIC General Secretariat and SESRIC Organize a Training Course on Integrating the OIC’s Youth Policies and Objectives into National Programs and Action Plans in the Member States

In the framework of implementation of the Resolutions adopted by the Fifth Islamic Conference on Youth and Sports Ministers (ICYSM) and the Fiftieth CFM, the Training Session on “Integrating OIC Youth Strategy into the National Programs and Action Plans in OIC Member Countries” jointly organized by the OIC General Secretariat and SESRIC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Chair of the ICYSM, kicked off at the SESRIC Headquarters in Ankara, Republic of Türkiye.

Chaired by H.E. Mr. Abdulaziz Abdulrahman ALMASAED, Deputy Minister for Sports and Youth, Ministry of Sport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Opening Ceremony took place today, 25 November 2024 and the participants listened attentively to the statements from H.E. Atty. Dr. Safa KOÇOĞLU, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. Mrs. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC, H.E. Mr. Taha AYHAN, President of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum, and H.E. Mr. Nasser A. H. MAJALI, Secretary General, Islamic Solidarity Sports Association. All speakers highlighted the importance of the session.

In his video statement on behalf of the OIC Secretary-General Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, Ambassador Tarig Ali Bakheet, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Affairs, welcomed the participants of the training session and appreciated the Government of the Republic of Türkiye for its continuous support to OIC and the SESRIC activities. 

He also appreciated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Chair of the Islamic Conference on Youth and Sports Ministers for its generous and unmatchable support to the OIC General Secretariat and its activities. He further highlighted the great importance that OIC attaches to the empowerment and capacity building of youth through its resolutions adopted by the Islamic Summit Conference, Council of Foreign Ministers, and the Sectorial Ministerial Conferences.

During the upcoming two days, the 66 participants from 34 Member States as well as OIC relevant institutions including IsDB, ICYF, and ISSA will share the best practices and experiences of their respective Countries and Institutions on integrating OIC Youth policies and Objectives into the National programs and Plans of Action in the OIC Member States.
