During his stay in Kuala Lumpur to attend the Commonwealth Youth Dialogue, H.E. the ICYF President, Mr. Taha Ayhan, seized the opportunity to visit the National Youth Council of Malaysia and was received for a meeting by its President, Mr. Jufitri bin Joha, which was also attended by Dr. Hamwira Sakti bin Yaacob, Head of Non-Credit Co-curriculum of International Islamic University of Malaysia.

Among the main items that formed the substantive part of discussions was the interest of the host on ICYF capacity building initiated projects, including the Muslim Future Thinkers Forum (MFTF) and ICYF Iqra Program. Mr. Jufitri underscored his Institution readiness to organize workshops in that context, which were suggested to take place in the first week of September so to coincide with the celebration of OIC Youth Day, which falls on the 3rd day of that month.

The ICYF President, on his part, highlighted the importance of Malaysian National Youth Council’s contribution and support to the ICYF since its establisment and stated his wishes for continuous strong cooperation for holding some of the ICYF flagship activities in Malaysia such as Model OIC international Programme.

At the end of the meeting, the President National Youth Council of Malaysia, one of the ICYF Member Organizations, invited the ICYF President to actively participate in the celebrations of the National Youth Day of Malaysia to be held on 15 May 2019 to which Mr. Taha was pleased to accept as an occasion to further the consultations on bilateral cooperation and future joint activities.
