ICYF President His Excellency Mr. Taha Ayhan received Ms. Rahima Kandahari, Senior Advisor and Director of Operations to the Office of Global Women’s Issues, US Department of State. The two parties discussed gender-based violence, especially in conflict zones. ICYF President emphasized the importance of raising awareness related to major issues faced by young females. Furthermore, Mr. Ayhan presented forthcoming projects and mentioned that women empowerment and young girls capacity building programs will be the top future priorities of ICYF programs and projects. Conclusively, the two parties agreed to future cooperation on awareness, the categorical elimination of violence against women and girls and tackling the cultural and religious roots of gender-based violence.
