ICYF participated in the African Union CIEFFA 5th Youth Capacity Building program on Gender Equality in Education under the theme “Girls and women’s education, and climate change: connecting the dots to build sustainable and resilient communities” held between the 1st & 4th of December 2022 in Rwanda. The Program focused on convening African youth to engage with traditional and religious leaders as champions of Young Girls’ education to exchange experiences and design collective community solutions to tackle Gender equality in and through education and climate change issues.

The program documented innovative approaches and initiatives of African Youth to mitigate climate impact on girls’ education with the participation of 44 young activists. The capacity-building program included presentations from the ICYF representative on ICYF’s vision, mission, and future programs.
