On 9 September 2024, a delegation headed by H.E. Apirat Sugondhabhirom, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Turkiye, was received at the ICYF Headquarters. Mr. Rasul Omarov, ICYF Director-General, has briefed the Forum’s activities while underscoring the admission of the Thai Muslim Students Association membership at the Forum’s last General Assembly as an added value to the ICYF and its Southeast Asian activities. Mr. Sorut Sukthaworn, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, considering Thailand’s observer status in the OIC, expressed his Government’s interest in collaborating with the Forum and getting more involved with its youth capacity-building programs, particularly in the southern provinces of Thailand, where major Muslim communities live.
