The President of ICYF the Islamic Youth Cooperation, Mr.Taha Ayhan, condemns in the strongest terms, the heinous terrorist attack on Asasey Hotel in the city of Kismayo which resulted in the murder of twenty-eight and left forty injured. Amongst the innocent victims was the Inspirational journalist Mrs. Hodan Nalayeh and her husband Farid Juma Suleiman.

Mr. Taha Ayhan calls for the continued memory of Mrs. Hodan Nalayeh who was a beacon of hope and peace throughout her lifetime. Mrs. Nalayeh dedicated her life in the way of good and passionately serving the causes of women and youth of her community. In her last hours, Mrs. Nalayeh traveled to seaport cities in an effort to shed light on Somalia’s treasure of youth and rich resources. Mrs. Nalayeh wanted to be remembered as someone who is a unifier.

The ICYF sends its deepest condolences to families of the victims and reaffirms its solidarity with the Government of Somalia, Somali people and the Somali Diaspora in its determination to bringing about an end to violence and terrorism.
Mr. Ayhan prays for mercy upon her soul and vows to uphold her undying spirit of hope in addition to working to restoring peace, unity, and security for the youth of Somalia.
