BACKGROUND
Are you a committed member of the society who enjoys helping others and granting your own free time for the common good? Would you like to learn about volunteerism and humanitarian work from experienced fieldworkers?
If your answer is yes, then the OIC Young Volunteers Camp is the right address for you to send your application!
The camp is organized by Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF), in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey and the Red Crescent. It is one of the main activities within the OIC Young Volunteers’ Network program, which was adopted by 3rd and 4th Islamic Conference of Youth and Sports Ministers to pursue and implement programs in the domain of intercultural dialogue, cultural rapprochement and diversity. As youth volunteerism is an integral part of social and personal development, the camp will target the interest of positive social transformations in the OIC Member States and beyond.
CAMP OBJECTIVES
The Camp provides a platform for young volunteers, representatives of non-governmental organizations, youth organizations, and other partners to salute the courage of the Muslim youth. During the camp, the participants are invited to broadly reflect on the opportunities, challenges, and importance of volunteerism in the OIC region and the world at large, with a view to find a common ground on how to collectively address them. The camp will bring together young volunteers to establish a practical network and to strengthen the capacity of youth leadership at both community and international levels.
PROGRAM
The two separate 4-day camps, each bringing together 60 youth participants, consist of a variety of workshops and activities organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey and the Red Crescent on the topics of Humanitarian Law, Operations Programs and Volunteerism.
