For the Position of Assistant Expert at International Incubation Center

Position Title: Assistant Expert

Duty Station: ICYF YBH – International Incubation Center (IIC)

Language Required: English, Turkish (preferably)

Expected Starting Date: August 2024

Type of Employment: Fixed Term

Grade: P1

ICYF wishes to recruit a qualified Assistant Expert who will be based in Istanbul. He/she will provide services in the planning, implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation of all projects in the International Incubation Center (IIC) under Young Business Hub. He/she will be assisting to manage, plan and actively participate in meetings, project preparations and training preparations processes and cooperation meetings for the startup training, incubations, investment summits, other vocational educations and related programs. He/she is expected to work closely with the Director of the Economic Empowerment Department and interns of the department.

Scope of the Work

An Assistant Expert of IIC will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Assisting on planning and implementation of all the entrepreneurship, employment and economic empowerment projects of ICYF
  • Support economy related sub-project activities held in OIC Region
  • Support all economy\startup related events of the institution
  • Ability to use ICYF digital platforms and give necessary support as required
  • Provide comprehensive support on well-thought and detailed course plans, schedules and content for startup trainings and vocational education
  • Assisting media and communication related issues of the center, follow the updates on website, social media accounts, complete duties in collaboration with media team
  • Assisting mentor and investor management and support program development
  • Support for scouting startups and running investor relations
  • Provide comprehensive support on training management of startups
  • Provide comprehensive support to develop idea, write, and assist on coordinating the implementation of fund-raising projects
  • Assess local, regional and international development needs, assist to prepare draft project activity plans, and monitor and report on progress
  • Follow up all the promotion and media campaign of the projects and programs
  • Coordinate IIC interns as per assigned duties; give weekly tasks, follow them regularly, provide feedback on each task, take weekly reports and weekly attendance, evaluate their performance quarterly
  • Performing other relevant duties as required

Degree of Expertise and Qualifications

  • At least a Bachelor degree or equivalent related to economics, management, political science, international relations and business administration
  • At least one-year work or internship experience on project development, entrepreneurship, economics or other related fields
  • Professional competence in English, good understanding of Turkish (any other language will strengthen the application)
  • Good communication and excellent reporting skills in English, ability to communicate in Turkish
  • Preferable experience in project writing and implementation processes
  • Good skills in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel), Microsoft Teams
  • Personal flexibility and high motivation
  • Efficient team-work, problem-solving, negotiation abilities
