Istanbul, 22 May 2014. The Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) delegation participated at the work of the OIC-UN General Meeting on Cooperation held on 20-22 May 2014 in Istanbul, Turkey and hosted by IRCICA. The purpose of the meeting was reviewing of cooperation between the UN and OIC institutions and appraisal of progress achieved since the UN-OIC General Meeting on Cooperation held in Geneva in May 2012. The meeting discussed the new opportunities for joint cooperation and adopted the updated Matrix of Activities for 2014-2016, which comprised the field and direction of cooperation agreed by the participating institutions.
ICYF delegation held the fruitful meetings with the representatives from the UN institutions and agreed with its counter-partners such as UNDP, UNAOC, UNESCO, UNEP, UNIDO, UNOSSC, and UNFPA to implement the joint projects on youth issues in different fields; countering incitement and enhancing cultural dialogue; focusing on creation of employment, in particular among youth; promoting occupational health, decent working, labor, employment and social protection; promotion of environmental issues among the OIC youth; promoting of child rights.
