Cairo, 7th February 2013. The 12th Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the theme of which is ‘Muslim World: New Challenges and Expanding Opportunities’ has been launched with the participation of 56 states, 40 of which are represented with heads of state and government, are attending, in Cairo, The Arab Republic of Egypt.
During the Summit six major topics on the agenda were being discussed, including the Jewish settlement in Palestine, conflict in the Islamic world, Islamophobia, humanitarian situation in the Islamic world, enhancing economic cooperation among member states, and promoting scientific, cultural and technological cooperation in the Islamic world. Among the political issues, the summit will discuss mainly the situations in Syria, Kashmir, Mali, Somalia, Afghanistan and Sudan.
