Youth Engagement with Religion and Faith in the 21st Century

On 28-29 July 2021, in cooperation with Religions for Peace, ICYF organized a symposium on “Youth Engagement with Religion and Faith in the 21st century”. This was to bring together youth leaders, faith leaders, and top research and education institutions together to explore the novel notions of youth engagement with religion and faith emerging in the 21st Century. The symposium boosted up participants’ moral systems presented through religious institutions and explored those spiritual expressions to youth ‘religiosity’ considered distinct from traditional religious engagement. The presentations focused on the extent to which religion and spirituality inform, motivate, and activate youth within their communities. These papers published in an academic journal that collates young people’s academic, artistic, and imaginative insights as they relate to and express religion and faith in the 21st Century. The publication was co-edited and co-published together with partners like SESRIC, IRCICA, Fiqh Academy, Georgetown University, Princeton University, Harvard University, Mahidol University (Thailand) the University of Santo Thomas in the Philippines, Berkley Center, Hamad bin Khalifa University, Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue.
