The 3rd Session of the Permanent Ministerial Council on Youth and Sports of the OIC Countries was held successfully

The 3rd Session of the Permanent Ministerial Council on Youth and Sports of the OIC Countries was held successfully on the 23rd June 2022 by the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan – the Chair of the 4th OIC Youth and Sports Ministerial Conference (ICYSM) in Baku.

In his statement the ICYF President Mr. Taha Ayhan briefed the meeting about Forum’s activities since the 4th ICYSM and the 2nd PMCYS. He particularly emphasized on the importance of cooperation and working together persistently and diligently to achieve the goals and objectives of the OIC Youth Strategy, the OIC 2025 Plan of Action, and ICYSM resolutions, and by strengthening cooperation with various strategic governmental agencies, international institutions, reputable NGOs around the world, and continuously learning the best practices and sharing expertise for youth prosperous future in the OIC region. The ICYF President underlined the emerging challenges and trends in the field of youth development.

The meeting unanimously adopted a comprehensive Baku communique reflecting the priorities of the OIC member states on Youth issues and renewed the commitments of the OIC youth institutions working in the field of youth.

The meeting wished the success to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for hosting the 5th ICYSM in Jeddah between 7-9 September 2022 and called upon OIC Member States to actively participate in its productive outcomes. It also welcomed all the initiatives and excellent programmes and activities demonstrated by the ISSF and the ICYF for the betterment of youth and sports in the OIC Member States and beyond, especially during the hit of Covid-19 Pandemic.
