On Dec. 12th, 2021, Fatih Boutbig, President of The People’s National Assembly of Algeria welcomed President of ICYF Mr.Taha Ayhan. In their meeting, His Excellency Boutbig introduced and shared the political reforms endorsed by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Algeria with regards to providing youth with opportunities to participate in elected councils, which aim to represent over 50% of the youth population. ICYF President Mr. Taha Ayhan expressed delight at his stay in Algeria and the warm welcome to the The People’s National Assembly. During the meeting, Mr. Ayhan provided a comprehensive overview of ICYF, highlighting ICYF’s role as an international, non-commercial, non-partisan organization uniting leading umbrella youth organizations across Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as well as international youth organizations operating in the OIC region, and youth organizations representing significant Muslim minorities worldwide. Sharing ICYF’s various successful programs and activities conducted across the OIC and beyond, Mr. Ayhan also announced ICYF’s partnership with the Ministry of Small and Emerging Enterprises and Knowledge Economy to organize a economic summit in Algeria for youth. Both parties agreed to the importance of cooperating and sharing ideas and best practices for youth empowerment and leadership. ICYF’s delegation had the opportunity to tour the parliament and learn about the various institutions and work proceedings of the Legislative Assembly.
