ICYF took part in the General Assembly meetings of the United Cities and Local Governments, Middle East and West Asia (UCLG-MEWA) hosted by the Amman Greater Municipality in Jordan. The ICYF delegation attended the administrative meeting of the UCLG-MEWA committee on Urban Mobility and Smart Cities, and while ICYF publications were distributed at a number of stands, participants in the first thematic session of the general assembly meetings discussed “Challenges and Opportunities for Big Data and Open Data for Local Governments”, and representatives of local authorities in the Middle East and West Asia went on virtual tours of Islamic heritage sites at the ICYF Virtual Reality booth.
