In an its first in its history, the ICYF conducted an event in collaboration with the Commonwealth Secretariat as part of the latter’s 2nd day of Youth Dialogue Conference being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Such collaboration was in a form of the an impressive Diplomatic Training Simulation Session on “Resilience as a Tool for Peace building” .
In the first part of the session, Ms. Tugba Ceren Cerci, Senior Policy Officer at the Department of Youth Policy of ICYF, introduced the theme, its definition, essence of resilience thinking for better societies, peacebuilding work in conflict zones in the level of indivual experiences and comunity based experiences discussed with participating delegates.
Then Mr. Enes Öztoprak, Capacity Building Officer at the Department of Youth Policy of ICYF took the floor to focus on the rules and produceres of the Model OIC International Programme’ Delegate Manuel to explain the main frame of the simulation and its serious diplomatic atmosphere to the delegates.
The final part of the session was conducted by Mr. Abdula Manafi Mutualo, Head of Youth Policy Department at ICYF, which dwelt on drafting resolutions, its unique implementation in the OIC system with informative presentation on how to prepare preamblre and operative paragraphs with the active participation of youth delegates, who were guided to produce a suitable document related to the Session’s theme.
The training session succesfully accomplished its mission to strengthen and build youth delegates capacities and raise their awareness on Diplomacy with the focus of Resilience for Peacebuilding Process by countries, communities and individuals.
