ISTANBUL (ICYF) – ICYF President H.E Taha Ayhan on Sunday commemorated Martyr’s Day of Azerbaijan, a day that went down in history of Azerbaijan’s fight for national independence and freedom of the People of Azerbaijan.

“On the night of 19-20 January 1990, without declaring a state of emergency, the brutal massacre was committed over the peaceful Azerbaijani population by the Soviet Army, 132 people were killed, hundreds of people wounded, and some were missing. January 20 is a symbol of unshakable will in national independence, sovereignty andfreedom of the People of Azerbaijan.” Mr. Ayhan said in his statement to mark 29th anniversary of January 20 tragedy.
