3rd ICYF Diplomacy Academy

(21 February – 1 May 2020)

Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF), an international institution affiliated to the

Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), launches ICYF Diplomacy Academy which

offers 9 weeks of academic seminars as well as training courses for local and international

students studying in Istanbul.

During the academy, interactive issues in international relations, social and intercultural hot topics, foreign policy strategies and important issues related to international relations will be discussed. The Academy will gather official representatives from governmental and non-governmental organizations, diplomats, politicians, journalists and academicians to deliver courses in the best possible way for the students.

The Academy will be held every Friday from 21 February to 1 May 2020 and at the end of the Academy, participants will be awarded with Certificate of Participation.

The Academy’s Aims

  • Education and development of Muslim youth in theoretical and practical terms about current international relations issues
  • To explain and evaluate the developments in countries and their policies especially in OIC member countries.
  • Enabling Muslim youth to develop themselves in diplomacy and international relations
  • To create an atmosphere where experts in their fields can share their theoretical and practical experience with Muslim youth
  • To contribute to the formation of a young population equipped with diplomacy and foreign policy

The Objectives

Participants are expected to attend the conferences and discussions regularly (at least 6/9 of the conferences and discussions). Also each student is expected to write a brief policy paper. Graduated students will be also included in the organization of international MOIC clubs. In this way, a process is created in which the right people are selected for organization, as well as the quality and merit of the organization can increase to this extent. Additionally, the Diplomacy Academy and the MOIC clubs will be able to gain international respect.

Admission Requirements:

  • To be a student in Istanbul
  • To be a 3rd- 4th grade undergraduate or graduate student
  • To be fluent in English
  • Studying political science, international relations, economics, sociology, or other related areas of social sciences
  • Having a genuine interest on foreign policy issues
  • To be able to regularly attend all of the courses
  • To be able to actively join political debates and discussions

Application: The applications will be held in 30 Jan – 15 February.
